Meet a Morah
We think all of our teachers are one of a kind, and we want each one to have his or her own day (or month). That's why we choose one Moreh or Morah to highlight at a time, so that you can get to know and love them as much as we do.
We are so lucky to have Morah Alex on our team! Before graduating with honors from the University of Maryland with a B.A. in Studio Art, Morah Alex studied at Bar Ilan University, where she expanded upon her extensive Hebrew language skills. A former instructor at the Kids at Art Studio in Manhattan, Morah Alex now teaches at the Creative Play School, located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, where she is loved by her students and adored by her fellow teachers. She is completing her coursework in the graduate Art Education program at the City University of New York, and expects to earn her Masters degree by January 2017.
At Morah Jessie Tutors, Morah Alex combines her expertise in Art, her love for teaching, and her comprehensive knowledge of Hebrew and Judaism as the director of our Judaism through Art program. Recognizing the individuality and unique challenges of each student, Morah Alex proposed the program idea as a way of helping kids find an alternative means to connect with their heritage. We loved the idea, and we know you will, too.
